The church has been
a part of the community of West Preston since 1927. It is
not just a building, it is about people. Within this site
you can find information about the church's history, events
during the year, links to the wider Baptist community, where

| What is important
for us? |
- Relationships
- Our God is personal, and relates to people.
We think it is important to build relationships with God,
with each other, and with the community.
- Servant
hood - God came as a servant.
We aim to be responsive to our own needs and the needs
of others.
- Equality
- There is equality within the Trinity.
All people are to be equally enabled to extend the Kingdom
of God, according to each persons sense of calling and
gifting.
- Creativity
- Our God is Creator.
It is important for our church and its people to be creative.
We have freedom to learn by experience.
We learn by action and reflection.
People have permission to try, to fail, and to explore.
- Diversity
- Creation revels in diversity.
We will appreciate, include, and foster diversity in who
we are and what we do.

| The People's Covenant,
West Preston Baptist Church |
|
In response to God's
call in my life, I (name) covenant before God, with our
Pastor, and this congregation to:
- Be faithful in
attendance in worship and community life;
- Involve myself
in at least one aspect of community life and mission,
as I am able;
- To care for both
new and established participants in our congregation;
- Give of my means
sacrificially; and
- To let our church's
values guide my participation in its community and mission.
By this covenant
I declare my commitment to an innovative church, one that
is evangelical and socially concerned. I firmly resolve
to assist the church to be a faithful people of God.
